When you install vCAC 5.2 Hotfix 5 you certainly have to install this on all componentens and systems running any piece of vCAC software. However, there is a scenario when this is not enough, or you have to do some manual adjustments.

You will remember, that when you first installed vCAC 5.2, you had to ‘install’ the ‘Model Manager Data’ option along with the ‘Model Manager Web’ portion to initially initialise the repository (which is in the database). That data option can only be installed once (as the initialisation take only place once). So consequently, for your subsequent repository servers you did not install this option. As the hotfix installer only updates the repository when it finds the ‘Model Manager Data’ directory you might run into a situation when you decommissioned the first repository server (or did a partly reinstall without the data option) and you would end up without the workflows (for vCD and multi-machine blueprints) being updated on the repository server.

To workaround this situation you have to install the ‘Model Manager Data’ option with the initial vCAC 52. setup. This will actually fail with an error stating it is already ‘installed’ (which is somehow true as the initialisation of the repository already took place), but the files in the ‘Model Manager Data’ directory will remain after you close the setup. After that you can run the hotfix 5 installer and have the repository updated as well.

To observe a proper installation you should have an about 300 lines of log output after the install on a repo server (instead of a ca 100 lines). Within the log you should also see that some workflows (xaml files) have been uninstalled and reinstalled in the repository (via cloudUtil).
